Marie Alene (Kibler) Fay, a beacon of love and generosity, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2024, at the age of 94, in North Benton, Ohio. She was a woman whose spirited nature and loving heart left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered.

Born on August 18, 1929, in Lykens Township, Marie was the cherished daughter of Clement Leroy Kibler and Mabel L (Miller) Kibler. She grew up in a close-knit family and carried the values of her upbringing throughout her life. Marie was a proud graduate of Lykens High School, class of 1947, and went on to pursue her passion for nursing, graduating from Fairview Park Hospital School of Nursing in 1950.

Marie dedicated her life to caring for others, a commitment that found its most profound expression in her work at Salem Community Hospital, where she retired in June of 1988. Her compassion and skill as a nurse touched countless lives, and her presence was a source of comfort and healing to all her patients.

Her spirit of service extended beyond her professional life. Marie was a devoted member of the North Benton Presbyterian Church, where she served two terms as a deacon. Her faith was a cornerstone of her existence, guiding her actions and inspiring those around her.

Marie's life was also filled with the joy of family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Albert Fay, who passed away on December 13, 2019, as well as by her sister, Kathryn E. Kibler, and brothers, Roy Junior Kibler and Paul Kibler. Her love story with Albert was one for the ages, and their shared legacy continues through their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving children, Linda (Rick) Specht of Grand Junction, Colorado; Cynthia (Phil) Carlile of Marlboro; Barbara (Tom) Franklin of Alliance; Dale (Karen) Fay of North Benton; and Donald (Susan) Fay of West Chester, Ohio. Marie was the proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchildren, who will carry forward her legacy of kindness and joy.

Marie's life was a testament to her generous spirit. She was always the first to lend a helping hand, and her home was a place of warmth and welcome. Her ability to love unconditionally and her unwavering support for her family were the hallmarks of her character.

Those who knew Marie will remember her for her vibrant energy and her ability to make each person feel valued. She had a remarkable talent for nurturing not only her own family but also the larger community around her. Her laughter was infectious, her advice was wise, and her presence was a source of stability and strength.

A funeral service will be held at North Benton Presbyterian Church at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 2, 2024 with Pastor Herb Goetz officiating. Friends and family will be received the hour prior to the service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the church. Interment will take place at Hartzell Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made in Marie's name to North Benton Presbyterian Church.
